Known for its slow but deadly impacts, diabetes targets the delicate parts of the body first like eyes where deterioration or loss of vision doesn't occur in a day and the victim takes notice of it when it becomes too late when doctors are hardly able to apply repairs. As pointed out in one of the medical surveys there are around 5000 victims of retinopathy out of every block of 10 lakhs of people.
