Prime Minister Modi only imitating Congress?

Whatever Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims boastfully as his achievements are only the offshoots of the earlier government of UPA, says Sonia Gandhi, the Congress high command. Looks like a joke when people draw a comparison between what was done by the UPA and what is being done by NDA. You ask a common man and he spontaneously talks about fuel prices that as against every now and then increase in fuel prices in the name of oil crisis earlier, now they are successively reduced for the first time in India after Modi became the Prime Minister of the country. She also ruthlessly blames Modi for creating a havoc for the people of the country saying:
  • “What he (Modi) gained in the US is not yet known. But the poor people of India are paying a heavy price as he has granted a huge price hike for essential drugs to directly benefit the US drug manufacturers”.
In fact what Sonia Gandhi says is not comprehensible to Indian consumer, he rather has seen and experienced only reduction in drug prices twice in the recent past as declared by the present government. What is actually most ridiculous is that politics in India is more practiced in a free styled manner than in a manner that is logic and reasoning based. Let there be a debate with reasons and the overall scenario would emerge to surface with a clear picture of pluses after Modi joined the power and the minuses that obtained during the time of the earlier government. It would been actually a major crisis for the country if there was really any imitation of what used to be done by the earlier government.

Share market in a snail’s mode:

It has been a typical behaviour of the Indian share market that moved up and down in most unpredictable a manner during the last week followed by an upward trend when the market opened yesterday. Overall it was a snail’s speed with which it worked. After Prime Minister Modi’s triumphant visit to America with his remarkable speech at the United Nations followed by his magical address at Madison Squire, New York, there were all expectations that the Indian share market would move higher with a plus factor but the traders got disappointed when the market closed on Monday with both Sensex and Nifty in a negative manner. Bulls did look slightly dashing at a certain point but it was just momentary as bears finally overpowered them assisted by snails. Experts still say that the market may soar in days to come after Modi returns to India but that is again nothing more than a mere guess and what tangibly occurs is to be seen and experienced only.

Summons to Modi on 2002 Gujarat riots:

Summons are issued against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he is on his otherwise a stormy visit to America by the US Federal Court for the Southern District of New York on a civil law suit filed by the New York based American Justice Centre (AJC), a non profit human rights organisation along with two survivors of the post Godhra violence. Narendra Modi is required to respond to the summon within 21 days after it is served on him, as the Court said. This is how the news is released by the PTI. Like a bee in the meals the news spoils the taste the Indian populace is enjoying on a tremendously successful visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America currently. Courts any where in the world have their own way of working boastfully unmindful of the reaction of the people in general. The news read in the context of Indian Court having already disposed of the case much earlier exonerating Modi of the charges so levelled, the instant one practically stands no where.

Bank accounts operations now within the ambit of kids even:

Rigid stipulations in respect of operations on bank accounts having since been relaxed, certain banks like ICICI Bank and State Bank of India are now to permit even the kids to open and operate their bank account(s) in terms of necessary guidelines issued earlier by Reserve Bank of India. Certain conditions laid down for the purpose are:

  • The account holder should be minimum 10 years of age and above.
  • The maximum withdrawal limit is not to exceed 50,000 in terms of Indian rupee.
  • The kid concerned should be fully conversant on signing so that the signature fully tallies when asked to repeat the signature.
  • As account holder kids concerned are equally authorised to operate the ATMs also. The observation made by the authorities concerned in this connection reads as follows:

“We do not expect the child to go to the ATM unaccompanied. But instead of making it a guardian operated account we are leaving it to the parent to guide  the child.”

All’s well that ends well:

Disputes on poll alliance between BJP and Shivsena in relation to assembly elections in Maharashtra stand halted now with a consensus emerging between the two on seats sharing. BJP was hell bent on getting nothing less than 130 seats and Shivsena finally relented to it. If the dispute was not sorted out amicably there was every possibility that it could have left a serious impact adversely affecting both the parties, mainly BJP which has continuously been gaining grounds after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India. After this consensus Shivsena may have to cut seat allocations in respect of other smaller groups in local alliance but they have their own way of tackling such issues and they are quite expected to sort it out too. It is after all a new sign of an added harmony between the both the big parties. All is well that ends well.

PS: Alliance has since collapsed, says the latest news:

High speed double decker train–how safe?

Travelling in a double decker train is thrilling with a mix of adventure and the people do relish it. Now that there is a proposal to enhance the speed of the double decker train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to 130 km an hour, the question that obviously arises is that of safety. Though railway authorities claim having taken ample measures to ensure safety but that can’t be taken just on its face value for the reason that such  measures are not new ones and despite that the accidents in railways have been a routine mishap. A double decker train being too big in height is much more prone to several kinds of mishaps. The bullet train, Prime Minister Modi’s dream project, is likely to run on Indian rail tracks shortly and the question of safety is linked to that also because of the speed factor. Nice that such projects are in the offing from the view point of passengers convenience and developmental activities in the country but the first and foremost necessity is to be doubly sure on safety and security before they are launched in physical terms.

Indian Prime Minister to address United Nations in Hindi:

On his visit to USA in the last week of this month Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the general assembly of United Nations, the significant feature being that this address shall be in Hindi. In fact he shall be the third dignitary from India to do so –the first being the then Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpai followed by Rajnath Singh the then a cabinet rank  minister in the Indian Council of Ministers. Actually like every thing language too is a politics both at the level of the individual country and also globally. In India several of political leaders, many of them claiming to be academically well qualified, speak in their regional language because they are not fully conversant in English and there are many who do so as an honour to the national language Hindi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too doesn’t command necessary fluency at speaking in English but this by itself is no reason for him to opt for speaking in Hindi at United Nations. His selection of language is fully based on a nationalistic approach holding Hindi banner high wherever he visits as was the approach of Atal Bihari Vajpai, the then Prime Minister. His decision as such is not to undermine English, most powerful and globally recognised a language, but just to go for a bigger boost up to the national language in true spirit of patriotism. This is quite in tune with the pride of India.

Floods in Kashmir -mercenaries on a rampage and vandalism:

Kashmir is crying in pain as a result of havoc caused by monstrous floods with hundreds of people dying followed by enormous devastations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an appeal for donations to facilitate further rescue operations and rehabilitations which every one owes a moral responsibility to respond sumptuously. Prime Minister Modi is all out to help the affected ones doing historically his best and this is for we , the people of the country, to help him at our maximum level. What is most unfortunate is the role of certain vested interests who are trying their maximum to torpedo Modi’s rescue measures. They are pelting stones on army men, helicopters, aircrafts involved in rescue operations to see that the help being extended to the victims in Kashmir valley be curbed some way or the other. They are the demons deserving a massive crush only.

A cut in diesel prices in the pipe line:

If it finally happens it is something that would occur for the first time  after 7 years. Thanks to present government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Diesel is a most consumed fuel in India and both rise and fall in its price affect millions of people in the country. The reduction in diesel prices is a likelihood as the oil marketing companies have started to make profits as a result of crude oil falling sharply to $98 a barrel followed by Indian rupee appreciating against dollar. Besides relief to consumers it may equally play a vital role in checking inflation. Indians being victims of hard hitting soaring prices in general throughout the country it may prove to be much of a relief to them. If media channels are to be relied upon, such a measure of relief has every likelihood for its implementation by the end of the current month.

Merit based appointments:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued directions to all of his ministers to strictly go by merit while making any recruitment in different departments of  their ministries. The announcement is to be hailed in the sense that merit should never be a factor to be compromised either as a matter of pick and choose or even reservation in jobs. A reference of the following blog post by way of a link needs to be made here:

Link:http://uppermost.me/2012/08/14/is-it-worth-compromising-merit-for-political-gains/

Merit is the crux point when there is a nation building in the process coupled with developmental activities all around and if the tools like pick and choose and quota reservation are allowed to get manipulated it enormously hampers the progress of any country –be it India or some other country elsewhere in the world. The move initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is sure to attract more talented people with adequate merit capable of handling the tasks which are in the overall interest of the country.

P.M.’s Teachers Day speech–action against defaulters:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on the last Teachers Day was a great hit but several of the schools in the country defaulted in its proper implementation –some on the ground that they had no necessary paraphernalia available with them for the purpose and some wilfully including those for political prejudices. Certain political parties openly opposed the programme. The government has now come out with a threat of action against those schools who defaulted. Since it was an official programme where Prime Minister was involved, there should normally be no pertinent an excuse to play any defiance on the part of any body whether individual schools or the political parties but the question is whether any action taken in the matter can be a justifiable one, more so in the case of different political parties who feel that they themselves are all powerful to go the way they want and none is supposed to go against them. It has yet to be seen what a turn it finally takes.

Sterilizing the elephants:

What a cruel joke? The state government of West Bengal has come out with a decision to sterilize elephants for the reason that they are every now and then a cause for train accidents and, as they feel, the remedy lies in arresting their population growth for the purpose, hence their sterilization. Supreme Court of India has since taken a serious view in the matter. If other States in the country follow suit with the West Bengal government, they may possibly propose the same measure against the families of all those who are killed in rail accidents which mishaps are more or less a routine in India. Elephants are a tameable animal, harmless and human friendly. Their services are utilised in many ways besides being a tool of entertainment in events like a circus. Sterilizing is cruelty, the means that can be used by the governments instead are safety measures on the part of the railways to scare them away from the rail tracks. Elephants alone are not the cause of accidents and in several cases they occur as a result of negligence on the part of the personnel concerned and if that factor is duly taken care of the potential accidents can very well be averted. In no case cruel  measures like sterilization, too excruciating and tortuous a process, can be the alternative.

Economy growth in India on a 2 year record high:

It certainly makes a heartening news if Indian economy registers some considerable growth at a point and this has happened in the case of April-June quarter this year, a question of rarity normally. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi for a laudable outcome. This growth by 5.7% for the quarter is significant and is likely to boost up developmental activities further. This is mainly attributed by manufacturing and mining sectors in the country. Viewed from consumers point, the reduction in petrol rates by another Rs.1.82 a litre in series in a way coupled with announcements on the front of various projects by the government further boosts up the morale of the people in general. Share market has shown an increasing trend in its index though in a meagre measure with stagnancy and volatility during the last week but capable of setting a tendency towards the market rising upward in days to come to the benefit of the traders in different disciplines. All taken together, the scenario looks like adding tangibility to the much talked of the slogan of “Achhey din aaney waley hain” which may give a chance to the public in general to owe necessary gratitude to the government in power.

Saif Ali Khan on girlfriends:

People are free to form their views and so is Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to express himself on a topic like relations with girl friends in general or on a particular case. He was candid enough with a particular reference in his mind while expressing like this:
  • “Let us say like, virat Kohli, if his girl friend is with him, I don’t know –I would like to think it’s not a distraction. A person involved with someone is going to think about them anyway”
There is in fact no point in taking exception of girl friend(s) along which has become most common a factor particularly with reference to Cricket these days when even cheer girls are free to storm from pavilion to the play ground like honey bees. Indian culture has a past when activities like this were never thought of but the time wave has changed its direction tremendously  adopting a neo culture that permits every damn thing on earth. No exceptions need be taken of the affairs like this and the people should better reconcile to the social changes which are taking place in a bumper measure –be it a matter of girl friends or cheer girls or even things beyond all that.

Why depression in women is more common?

Inaugurated by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, a BJP M.P., the other day in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh, India), a medical event took place where doctors of eminence participated in debate on medicinal issues. Dr. P.K. Dalal of King George Medical University, Lucknow, opined that depression is twice as common among women than men. Almost all the doctors in the meet were of an unanimous view that self medication is always hazarduous and the patients have to refrain from so doing. The very factor as to why tendency towards depression is more in the case of women compared to men was, however, not discussed with an adequate elaboration shedding necessary light on the malady. Emotionally women tend to be hyper sensitive and that is one reason why they take even trivial most issues more seriously which in turn becomes the cause for a perpetual sort of strain and tension resulting into depression after a certain gap of time. This is an area which needs serious attention of those who are running the administration of health and medicines and requires to be given a top priority peremptorily.

Bharat Ratna for Major Dhyan Chand:

Much awaited and most coveted an honour at the national level in India is now quite likely to be conferred on late Major Dhyan Chand of Jhansi (29 August’ 1905 to Decemer 3’1979). This ‘Hockey Wizard’ was the one who deserved it most. In fact his name was clubbed with that of Sachin Tendular last time but the latter superseded him. Now that the proposal is cleared by the concerned ministry and it has to elicit the nod of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi before it goes to the President of India for his final approval, it can be taken for granted that Major Dhyan Chand becomes a Bharat Ratna. Known well for his nationalistic approach one can fully expect the Prime Minister Modi to vehemently put his nod in the matter. Lovers of games and sports all over the country, nay the world, must be feeling overjoyed with this news. Hockey was in  veins and blood of Dhyan Chand and a friend of mine who was by his bed side when he was breathing his last recalls that even in those moments he was murmuring notes on hockey. He was the one who is immortal in the history of sports. Long live Major Dhyan Chand in the memory of the people of the country and the whole world.
