As if free sex is inevitably a dire need?

Call it a progressive society or people obsessed with the desire for sex, the world is changing fast to accommodate the interested couples in most liberal a way. A law is passed in California permitting sex in the campus and this has been done by Governor Jerry Brown to heed to the demand raised by University of California Students Association (USCA) besides certain other organisations. The law permits free sex between the consenting partners in the campus itself if theirs is a conscious decision with affirmative consent and that mentally they are a normal couple. A spokeswoman of California University spoke out her mind on ‘affirmative consent’ like this:

• The affirmative consent definition is one of many factors that is assessed when sexual violence is investigated and adjudicated on our campuses. But it is an extremely important one.

Isn’t it that such laws, if practiced by other countries, provide an alternative to otherwise a ghastly act like perpetrating a rape liberalising the same in public places? Back to the age of Adam and Eve, they could have felt more satisfied to know that there is no more any thing like a 'forbidden fruit' and that can now be relished well even quite publicly.

What type of a molestation is this?

Just so peculiar, a boy friend for several years molesting his love as if he was doing something else all this time. Preity Zinta, a famous cine star from Bollywood has lodged an FIR with the local police at Mumbai that there was an attempt of molestation made against her by her ex boy friend and an industrialist Ness Wadia. A bid to molest the other side is normally a prologue to developing physical relations and in the instant case that stage was crossed long back between the two. May be the law doesn’t permit molestation as a sequal to forcible sex even in the case of divorcees but in the matters of love affairs the situation is to be read slightly in a different context of the mutual understanding the couple had continuously for several years where physical union was not at all taken as a forbidden fruit. Possibly the whole episode is the type of much ado about nothing.

Monica Lewinsky–Why should she put her life on hold?

“Should I put my life on hold for another eight to ten years” says Monica Lewinsky with reference to the affair between her and the then American President Bill Clinton. She also says that she now feels “compelled to emerge from the shadows”. Now that Mrs. Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is most likely to be a contestant for election of American President due shortly, Monica Lewinsky has apprehensions that her past affair might be used as some political tool during the campaign for the purpose. She kept her silence till such time President Clinton’s term as President was over, she says, but she doesn’t find it feasible to keep her silence any more waiting for Hillary Clinton’s term getting over in the event of her victory in the election. As it appears from the brief expressions so made by her, she finds it suffocating to remain docile and silent on her past life and that she would like to come out obviously baring the facts in relation to her past life and impliedly her affair with the then President Bill Clinton. American culture as against India normally doesn’t take exception of love affairs in one’s life but since this one involves a great celebrity it may matter much with a focus.

Joys of motherhood:

Chelsea, the only child of former American President Bill Clinton and his wife, the former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, is pregnant to deliver shortly and this makes the whole family extremely joyous including her husband Mare Mezwinsky. Celsea’s statement made on the occasion was quite inspiring one which said “I just hope I will be as good a mom to my child, and hopefully children, as my mom was to me”. The statement was made on an event on empowering women. This is ideal if the care and love extended by Hillary Clinton to her daughter Chelsea are adopted as a pattern for all would be mothers every where in the world to grow as a traditional bond of love, care and affection running from generation to generation. How sweet and divine with a thrill for all mothers to be and also their children.

Maha Shivratri in India:

It’s Maha Shivratri in India today. The festival is observed not only in India but also in different countries of the world by the devotees of Lord Shiva, the God of Gods according to Indian mythology. The day is also observed remembering Shravan Kumar, a great son who took his parents in a kanwar (a duet sort of a weighbridge) on his shoulders to pilgrimage to fulfil their desire as such as they were too old and weak to walk the distance. It was too tortuous a task for him to carry them like this from one pilgrimage centre to another but he did make it as faithfully committed a son. These devotees of Lord Shiva symbolically repeat the exercise by using ornamentally decorated palkies known as kanwars and those who do so are known as kanwarias travelling long distances from place to place. Like every culture has some ill or the other associated to it, this practice has it in abundance and the kanwarias are seen more as a nuisance than the faithful devotees. They disrupt the traffic at times resorting to manhandling with the other passersby. Several of them are virtually scoundrels behaving as goons. They behave nasty at the first available opportunity. Most of them are not really faithful to their parents, they instead take the ritual as picnic and a pleasure trip. Reports are that they even ill treat their parents at home as against telling the whole world as if they are most faithful and obedient to them in all respects. How very nice it would have been if they  treated their parents really faithfully as their son(s) instead of ill treating them. Maha Shivratri, let us wish, bestows upon them the bliss of love in the real sense instead of playing a mockery of it.**

Holi in India:

Holi is considered to be a pious most festival in India. In certain places in the country it continues for several days starting from Holika Dahan to Holi Milan. The festival relates to the story of a boy named Prahlad, a great devotee of the God whom Hirnakashyap, a demon, wanted to do away with as he didn’t like him to worship the Lord whom he considered a foe. He took the help of his sister Holika who had the bliss of never to get harmed by fire. She hatched a plan to take the child Prahlad in to her lap as a dodge and plunge to the flames of fire with the belief that she would come out of it as per the bliss she had but Prahlad would perish in the process. What happened was just the reverse. Holika was burnt to ashes and Prahlad was rescued by the grace of God a great devotee of the Lord as he was. To religiously commemorate the event Holika Dahan takes place every year culminating in to Holi Milan a day later.The clear message this festival directs is that of love and communal harmony and even the people opposed and inimical to each other meet heart to heart with an affectionate embrace. This year it is due the next month on 17th of March. Let us wish that the message gets flourished and flashed to the nook and corner of the country, nay the world as a whole.

There are many a definitions of love given by innumerable persons in their own way from time to time and they continue changing fast every now and then from generation to generation. Love is eternal and so is its continual change. One such definition, as quoted above, looks to be somewhat a novel one, hence reproduced here.

Dove, the bird of love:

 

Known as the bird of love, a dove is indeed the one bird that remains engrossed in love all the time except for the timings it is out in search of food. Look wise too, the doves are most beautiful amongst all their fellow birds. It is one of the solitary cases where a dove is shown in the above picture as single, as normally they are the ones who move all around as a pair, say as a couple. The picture above is an online impression pasted here , which temptation I just could not resist.

This move on my part is just to create a diversion of the routine topic in this blog from marketing, politics and business to some thing that deals with most tender a topic like love for which there is nothing like an alternative to this bird of love, the dove.

Taming the wild

Even wildest of wild animals or the beasts have love of the kind that is soothingly caressing, more so when it comes to kids. The lion in the picture looks like the one who forgets its very instinct of wildness and is so docile when face to face with a baby and that too with a parent like care. Thanks to Ved Gupta, a friend of mine, who provided me this rare type of a picture.

They too have a family

They are stray dogs with no home of theirs to live roaming here and there in the streets but they too have a family of their own –a male, a female and the kids to be looked after. They have a society of their own too and the  moment some one applies his stick on a dog the fellow ones immediately collect in a group violently howling at the attacker chasing him to the point of running away from the scene. Their unity on this count is just superb. Character wise they are much faithful compared to humans and if you offer them a loaf of bread or some other food in any form you earn their unquestioned loyalty never to betray you, they remain even prepared to protect you if some one attacks you or causes you an injury and this they do unmindful of even cost to their life. They are good parents and both the male and female unfailingly take care of their kids till such time they grow enough to take care of themselves. You love them the least and in turn they love you the most.

Initiative for sex

Romance and sex have all along been most dominant a factor since ages, nay since day one after life started on the earth planet. Chanakya, the great sage and diplomat who was the chief advisor to king Chandragupt Maurya, held a view that women have eight times more anxiety for sex compared to men and this view fully holds good in the case of birds and animals, even creatures. One thing that differs in this context is as to who is a fore runner in the matters of initiatives for the purpose. There it is the male that stands first both in the case of humans and animals. If a man feels proud in offering several temptations like valour, money and wealth to the opposite sex, animals do the same thing and it is the meat that acts as a major incentive in their case as they have nothing like money or wealth to offer. A tiger, besides exhibiting his valour and strength in so many ways to a tigress, no sooner he kills his prey he offers it to her and she easily succumbs to temptation offering her sex to him readily. So does a dog. Blue bulls are known to be vegetarians in strict terms but they drag their female partners to green pastures offering them the leaves of grass, crop and the plants. They are known for keeping three partners at a time. It is a mystery only as to why initiative part is more dominantly played only by males and not that much by females.

Who knows the world may end tonight:

While addressing his ‘last ride together’ to his beloved, Robert Browning gave an expression to his thoughts at one stage through the words ‘ … who knows the world may end tonight’ in the form of a poem. This he did to manifest the very intensity of love and the moments of ecstasy he was overwhelmingly having on that count as a result of his reunion with his beloved. Such a superb expression so made by him was denotative of most ecstatic and quite a divine level of love and had virtually nothing to do with the world collapsing in physical terms but there are people particularly the so called astrologers who every now and then come out with the prediction like some volcano is to erupt to kill a major chunk of human beings and they even quote the very month and year for the purpose. They talk of some top celebrities of the world dying as a result of some grave mishap and that geographically a number of countries shall be washed away by most violent a sea hardly sparing even a single soul to survive. True, none can deny the eternal truth that the world as a whole may collapse some day as it is the law of Nature but the way the loose predictions are made by the astrologers specifying timings quite often sounds to be absurd which factor not only causes a feeling of havoc but it enormously demoralises the people.

Injecting mammals for more milk

More, still more and much more is the lust which humans have been suffering from for ages. Rich or poor, business magnates or the hawkers in the streets all have been pursuing this practice flagrantly violating any ethical norms prescribed from time to time not only by sages and saints but others too spreading message of love both for humans as well as animals. Who cares? Practically none. A couple residing nearby my house is a popular bhajan singer visiting different places reciting religious verses drawing applause from the audience for the message of love they convey. The message they communicate is that of love for humans, animals and any creation of God on earth. Their preachings include that one should take cows milk only as it is pure and pious. They have taken the task of supplying cows milk to themselves and this they do with a sense of pride that theirs is a noble job. What they do? They give injections to their cows to fetch more milk and never lag behind in mixing the monetarily required amount of water. Injection cause havoc on health count and the animal, it is cow or a buffalo goes fully incapacitated in course of time. This infact is callous and much against what they themselves preach from door to door. Such people actually have no right to talk on love, religiously or otherwise, and the society has to recognize them as nothing but hypocrites.

Ecstasy of a robust romance !

There was a time when love making had a take off with 'touch me not' gestures. This most powerful faculty in the human system has now all reasons to be explicit, bold and expressive from day one in love. Intensity wise love was the same when live being emerged on earth but expression wise it is the one phenomenon that has been undergoing tremendous changes. Humans moved bare bodied in Paleolithic age both male and female mixing up with each other just freely like animals having sex just as a running routine depending on the desire for it. Then it was a civilized world where they had to cover their bodies particularly women folk. Not free love but only restricted love it was with so much of purdah all around. Now is the age where an ample recognition is given to the fact that of all the urges and attractions love is the most powerful and it deserves opportunities for fullest possible manifestations. These opportunities are there in a great measure when there are events like championship on that count. An English poet penning down his view points on romance gave a message to the lovers telling '...be not coy', when age permits 'go and marry'. I don't remember full text of his poem except these few broken words but I quite remember this was the poem elaborately covering the pangs of seclusion one suffers from when in love with some one. Those might have been the days when love deals were not travel distances of the nature as they do now, exchange of looks, dating, romancing and live together not necessarily marrying each other. Earlier during the days of the poet, if love had to mature to something physically tangible it was possible only when it culminated to the bond of marriage and nothing like leading a full fledged sex life telling the world that it was just friendship and not at all something else beyond that as the practice obtains now. In those old days of typical social compulsions, this poet was bold enough to say that if there is something like love between two persons, more so in physical terms, there was no reason for them to sit idle helplessly, rather it was all the more necessary for them to see that their love culminates to a maturity point which was possible only when their marriage took place. It plainly gives a message that the love has all along been the same in kind and character with only modalities differing from time to time. The instinctive propensity, intensity, anxiety and excitement are eternally the same on love front irrespective of varying social orders operating in particular locations and zones. A significant aspect of this poem referred to above in the form of broken links by picking up a word here and another there is that it no where support lust as against love. Suggesting certain modalities of materialisation of love, the poet took enough of care to see that love is not a phenomenon to get maligned, it is supposed tobe chaste, honest and eternal.

A solitary rose

Making its way out, peeping through the bush leaves, glancing upon the passersby, it's a full bloom rose single handedly heralding the message of fragrance that emerges from love, love for every one, love for the world. There are thorns too but they are the ones that support it, they are the ones that protect it against any potential onslaught giving yet another message to the mankind that good and bad both can not only survive together, they can very well proceed ahead supplementing each other on any  move. Inspirationally this single rose is strong enough to guide the humans to survive in odds and yet be able to do something good to others.

Why English ?

Using English language or any language for whatever be the purpose is obviously always supposed to be  in order with an accurate usage of spelling, punctuation, style and tone and tenor. It is after all a question of capacity. All can't afford doing it with a meticulous adherence to what is a normal expectation. OK, no problem, let it not be done but what about those who volunteer themselves to resort to twisted versions of words to suit their own tongue and type. One of my blog readers while giving her comment on my post on Prithviraj Chauhan on another website (Wordpress) asked '...when he was dad'. Initially I failed to make out any meaning out of it but realised a little later that she wanted to know as to when he died. I replied. Another question on the same topic but in another post of mine was if Sanyokta had so much of 'licking' for Prithviraj Chauhan since beginning. My goodness. Licking in those days ? It was a Doom's day if there was any thing of this sort at a time when any woman even if she happened to be a princess resorted to a noticeable love making to that extent. What was meant by her question was simply this much that whether Sanyokta had so much of liking for her love mate right from the beginning. Liking in plain terms is an indication of choice but licking is an intense form of activity while engrossed in physical romantic activities. Language, I mean any language, claims respect and miserable twist of its words amounts a sheer disrespect.

Saw her spraying sugar granules

While on a stroll in a local park the other day I saw a woman spraying sugar granules to feed ants selecting different spots for the purpose. What was it she was doing I asked her. It was to feed hungry ants, she replied. I felt moved on the attention she was paying to the creatures. Ants too were responding to her gesture with activity and enthusiasm. Social chemistry of ants is so perfect that it hardly takes any time for their monitors to organise them to assemble all at a place to enjoy the feed. It is much better an organising capacity vested in them compared to humans. Such activities on the part of humans, particularly the women, are on two counts -religion and compassion. Certain religions advocate a faith that you feed the ants and you shall be placed much better in your next birth. Element of compassion too is more or less on the same footing drawing an impression that if you help the small creatures, you shall be helped in many ways by others. Whatever be the background in which one takes it but the fact remains that helping small creatures or say helping any one does beget help in several ways and above all is the factor of self satisfaction, the very satisfaction that you are doing some thing for others. Sounds much in contrast to what people take as a fancy in killing animals but if there are killers there is no dearth of those who love and care the other live beings on earth. The very picture of the woman so intensely involved in feeding the ants is still hovering in my mind.

Good, bad and evil

What is good and what is bad or evil is not a question of today, it is as old a question as the world itself. I came across an interview of certain top ranking religious heads besides Shri Ravi Shankar and Shahrukh Khan, the most popular film actor on this question. The versions of interpretations on the subject were varying but interesting. Books on mythology are full of references on the topic read, interpreted and reinterpreted by eminent scholars but the very question still remains like it was in the beginning. Bhagwati Charan Verma, the author of 'Chitralekha', the book that made him a giant amongst writers overnight, chose this very theme for his novel. What is Paap (evil) is the question Chitralekha asks a Guru leaving him non plussed. Mahatma Gandhi's three monkeys are well known the world over, the three who teach that ...don't talk ill, don't see bad, don't hear wrong. Lord Budha's teachings are all on that count only. Take any religious leader, they invariably cover this question as topic of their sermons. Shahrukh opted to answer this question based on his convenience. His version was that there is nothing wrong in acquiring massive wealth or lead a luxurious life with the caution that a person should not get attached to these things. This again is too vague an answer in the sense that there is hardly anything like enjoying it and disowning it in the meantime. The precepts contained in Bhagwat Gita are all centred around this theme only.

Infact the very system on earth is the combination of both good and bad and wherever there are divine intentions there are evil designs too. Good and bad both exist parallel to each other. Where there is God, there is also Satan. The pertinent aspect of which hardly any notice is taken is that Satan himself is only the part of God Himself. Moreover, no definition of this topic was ever given by any one which was uniform. It keeps on

From age to age the definitions given and interpretations made are found to be highly conflicting for the reason that these things were all based on the life pattern that obtained at a particular stage of time. All religions talk of causing no harm to others. In practice this is not what they actually do. Certain religions are there to justify killings. These very people develop their food habits, some are vegetarians and some are there to be non vegetarians. Non vegetarians in many cases are those not lagging behind in talking of love for animals and birds. How come it could stand the truth. You love a bird but you kill it, or some one else does the job for you, you are not for harming any live being but you kill a goat or other animals to satisfy your taste. The question is difficult but the answers to this given by preachers are more grotesque and anomalous.
