As a miracle of Google’s master mind products, an awefully miniatured car is likely to be on roads within a short time. The work on the project is almost complete with final testings going on. This is not enough to call this car just as an automatic one as this shall be of the type where there is no need of any driver. Sans any driver this shall also be a car with no steering, no break and no accelerator, instead the car will have only an on and off switch to start the journey and stop wherever the owner so wants. Two seater, this miracle car is prescribed a 40 km an hour speed to start with limiting it to a barest minimum from security point of view. The prototype is likely to assume a full fledged functional shape with its availability on roads shortly to begin with in certain selected countries. A dream coming true like this is an amazement with thrills for every one. Thanks to Google.

Nano’s new version:

It was too slump a market in relation to auto vehicles during the last quarter of the last year 2013. Manufacturers are giving a neck to neck fight to their competitors in the market. Tough competition is always useful for improved products pouring in the market and there are several versions of new car models available to the customers mainly those who have a fancy for new products. Much talked about ‘Nano’ of Tata which was given a hyper publicity for being cheapest four wheeler in the world too has come out with a revised version. There is nothing like much of an improvement in the revised model except that it may have a power steering. It may cost 2 lakhs+ as against its current version (base model) which stands priced at 1.47 lakhs. Nano was given a grand welcome by the customers for the reason that it was publicised as the cheapest one which later did not prove to be a fact as cost was considerably enhanced after it was launched. Be it Tata or any other manufacturer, there is none to compromise their profit with the result that cost continues growing higher. The enthusiasts for a cheaply priced a car are yet to wait for some one who brings out a cheaper model compatible to the people in lower income group.

Car loan is a difficult task now:

No more easy it is now to go for a car loan as the bank like State Bank of India have since come out with stiff stipulations in respect of eligibility for taking loan to purchase an auto vehicle. Besides State Bank, other banks are also preparing themselves to fall in line. To acquire necessary eligibility to by a car financed by the bank, one may have to fulfil the following conditions:

• Bank account statement for the last twelve months.
• Two passport sized photographs.
• Signature identification from the bankers of the borrowers.
• Passport, Voter ID Card, Pan Card.
• Proof for the residential address of the borrower.
• Latest salary slip in the case of salaried employees or some other proof in support of the borrower’s income.
• Income tax return for the last two years in the case of salaried employees and three years in the case of self employed business men.

Except two passport sized photographs, all other stipulations are an arduous task to manage. More over, different banks are also fixing up a minimum annual salary amount ranging from 1.45 lakhs to 6 lakhs. Bankers and other financers are trying their best still to secure a largest possible number of borrowers for different vehicles but with the conditions obtaining as above they may only suffer a set back on this segment.

Maruti Suzuki suffers a set back!

Maruti Suzuki, known till the other day as the biggest car producer in the country, has resumed functioning, but it has not yet come out of the set back it suffered due to strike by its employees  followed by the lockout the company declared as covered in one of my posts in another blog titled as Lockout in Maruti Suzuki. It appears the company will have to strive further hard to recover its old record. The company’s production level, as per news appearing in the press. is currently for the month of August 54,154 units as compared to what it was a year back at 91,442 units. It amounts to a colossal loss to the company. The company already has tough competition to face with other car producers in the country and this set back has dragged it much backward. The company hardly had such a situation to face, excepting slightly of course, when Tatas introduced their Nana to the market, as mentioned by me in an earlier post in this very blog titled as Nano comes in, Maruti800 goes out. May be it takes a little more time, but the company with its talented human mechanism at their command is likely to recover soon by taking the concerned workmen unions into confidence.

Old order changeth to the new is the saying and it equally applies to auto vehicles. When Maruti800 was introduced to the market it was nearly that popular as Nano is today. Considered as peoples car, Maruti800 was received sumptuously well by all quarters of society and it was this car which made Indian car industry recognizable in different countries abroad. People will miss this car as the company has since decided to stop its further production for the reasons that the current generation of customers want newer versions which are more pollution free and more environment friendly. Like Lakhtakia (car priced at 1 lakh) Nano, Maruti800 too was initially priced too low at 40,000/, it is a different matter that by the time it reached the market and the customers, the price tag grew bigger and bigger. Celebrities including President of India are in the first preference list for Nano and more or less similar was the case with Maruti800 where people like Shahrukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Khushwant Singh were the very initial first proud buyers of the car. Occupying the status of an economical and fuel friendly car, this car has covered a time span of nearly two and a half decade of its service to the people and obviously we are to bid adieu to this sweet vehicle with a heavy heart only.

Nano or Umrao Jaan ?

Tata's Nano is casting its spell on every body and the one so spell bound is Muzaffar Ali, the film maker who gave his masterpiece Umrao Jaan to the film enthusiasts of the country. He finds the tiny car as the one most befitting to a country like India as it contains total indigenous features. Look and beauty wise he joyfully compares it with 'Umrao Jaan' in his film with the very same name. Asked as to which one is better from beauty angle his reply was 'let the time come' denoting that it has to be an exact physical comparison when the car is on the road. The car after all is a dream come true for India with a crowd of admirers even abroad and there are millions of people joining Muzaffar Ali.

Is it worth incurring debts for Nano?

Tata's Nano is so much a craze for every one from richer people to those weak on financial footing that they are to some way or the other grab one. Richer people are for it as a fancy to add it to their fleet of cars as a modern most item and middle class/ lower middle class people look at it as an elevated version of a scooter/bike with not so much difference in cost. Bankers were never found so liberal in so receptively granting loans for the purpose and there is a cut throat competition amongst them which obviously suits the customers. A tendency of remaining unmindful to interest impact as the Indian customers particularly the farmers have, they don't bother for the burden of debts. They fail to realize that waiting period in the case of Nano may be too high in view of the unprecedently huge demand for the toy car and obviously the interest burden is likely to reach a peak by the time its delivery materializes. Rich people can afford it as for them it is a petty item of expenditure but it may prove so cumbersome for others who have but to borrow against heavy interest. Interest burden wise it may not at all be worth to go for the vehicle but the amount of frenzy for it is so much that the customers can't help going for it whatever be the cost.

A tip on using car AC

Car without AC ? No pleasure. A car with AC without using it all the time is considered irrelevant. OK, it is better, if one can afford it, to go for a car with AC but what is needfully warranted is that it should be used in a reasoned manner. Erratic use of it without caring for as to when should it be used and when it should not only results into wastage of fuel and also causes hazards to health like there are people who travel in extremely hot weather with air condition of the car on and they will only stop it when the car reaches the destination with passengers coming out of it in the scorching sun. The clash between the two extremes of climate, inside the car and outside, instantly disturbs the body system and the travellers may fall sick, at times critically. The proper way is to stop the AC a few minutes before the destination is reached which moderates the intensity of the situation taking care that there is nothing untoward.

Maintaining a car

It is not that difficult to acquire a car and what is really difficult is to maintain it. There is no dearth of people who are rich enough to afford purchasing any model at any price tag but there are persons for whom it is a life time possession. It is entirely a different taste to keep one and maintain it. Often there are old car rallies organised and they make a grand show on road. It's a Ford, a Land Master or a Baby Austin, their look, style and the make is captivating. How come they could keep their elegance even after passage of a long period? The reason is simple. They were maintained well by their owners all these years with a meticulous upkeep protecting them against usual wear and tear which otherwise could have eroded their body causing a shabby look with yawning gaps here and there. True, they are not at all fuel friendly for the obvious reason that when they were born there were no necessary technologies developed on fuel consumption. Moreover, these were the days when the cars were acquirable supposedly by the reach people only and they were the ones who had nothing to bother on consumption rate. Now that fuel economy is there as a result of technological improvements on that count and that their availability is sumptuously convenient due to mushrooming of dealers in vehicles with tough competition amongst themselves acting as a source in reducing the prices, even a common man can afford going for it. Old or new, in both the cases maintenance is the factor that significantly matters. An old car maintained properly looks always better compared to a newest possible one that is not cared with a personalised attention.

A revolution called 'Nano'

Looking too small apparently, the tiny 'Nano' is practically big enough to meet the need of the people who otherwise can't afford going for big cars. Utility and use wise, this is the vehicle sumptuously capable of passing through even lanes and streets and there lies the advantage of this car coupled with the feature that it is quite consumption friendly from fuel point of view with 20+ mileage per ltr. Cost wise it is much worth its value as an amount of 1 lakh of rupees in today's market is not considered to be a big sum. With 8% less in space outwardsly when compared to Maruti 800, it is 21% more than that in the interior giving sufficient leg space to the passengers. It is a moving story that inspired Ratan Tata to go for production of a small car. While travelling he saw a woman taking shelter under a tree alongwith her husband and two children as they couuldn't physically afford travelling further because it was raining. They must have been some junior middle class family who were not in a position to manage any vehicle beyond a scooter. Tata instantly madeup his mind to produce some small vehicle which can easily be affordable by the people unable to apply their option for big cars. Such an inspiration drawn by him speaks volumes about a normal human being in him who gets worried on seeing others in difficulty. Bringing out such a car for which Indian engineers with Tata worked day and night is certainly not a commercial venture to earn profits, it is infact a great service to the people of the country. All praise to Ratan Tata the great.
