What do the cheaper goods in the market mean?

It’s okay to go for cheaper goods available in plenty in the market, but the question is whether they affect our country’s economy. If they do, what could be the alternative to the goods procurable only at a high cost. If black money is set aside, India continues to be a poor country where the common man just can’t afford higher price tags particularly when it comes to routine consumer needs, say like food items. Supply of different items from outside, mainly including China, is at a very large scale making them available in the local markets in plenty at considerably much cheaper a rate. The very element of competition such a supply generates is something in the interest of the buyers as it results into reduction of standard prices in the market . This bumper supply is also on account of an abnormal reduction in import duty as per the government’s policy. Import duty in India in early 1990s which was 300% stands steadily reduced to only 10% presently. Patriotically speaking, one should not go for imported/ foreign items as against what is available on a desi pattern, and such an approach emerges from what was known as swadeshi in tune with the call given by Mahatma Gandhi long back. Ideally, it sounds very good, but the question here is again centred on affordability and availability. As against khadi and handloom products, the supply otherwise available in the market is cheaper, and a consumer may not go for it on a mere slogan of desi/ swadeshi, as is the cult of thinking at the level of the present day generation. This is wrong to go for a chinese brand of a mobile phone just for the reason that it is much cheaper compared to other standard models available in the market, but after all a buyer can’t go beyond what his/ her pocket permits. The option left open to a consumer is either to go for a purchase of an item he/ she needs, or not to go for it at all. Here again, the solution revolves around the economic policy of the government by evolving policies that adjust import duty and increase the local level of production enabling the market to withstand the competition at the global level.

Calls from the dark

Known as the boon of the modern era mobile phones are recognized as a tool for multifarious activities and utilities. No good is there without some element of bad in it in the background and so are mobile phones. Contacting, talking, chatting, setting alarms and enjoying music all is there in the tiny tool but occasions are not rare when it is annoying and irritating. You are on an important business schedule, as a gentle man you prefer not to switch off the instrument from the point of view that no important communication should remain unattended and then there is a ring from some where, the callers being mostly the girls, giving you the whisper of '..dear darling, how sweet you are..' and by the time you normalize yourself to mentally fit into such an unexpected message the call is cut. You take a sigh of relief. This relief is short lived as after a few seconds the call is there again with some more romantically silky words. You have no go but to switch off your mobile. Such a trespassing is a routine for many and I wonder how difficult it is to identify such callers from the dark.

Mobile users -a note of caution

Mobiles have since taken the society by storm and it looks like there is no life without mobiles. There are some chronic users who keep it close to their chest even when they go for sleep. You fix your gaze in any direction, some mobile user are the other is invariably there talking to some one with mobile clung to her/ his ears intensely engrossed in conversation. Mobile is most useful a communicational tool no doubt but there is limit, as it is in all cases, to this and those going beyond that are inviting trouble to themselves. One study on the subject says that rashes by the side of ears on the face are a common feature which ultimately culminate to baldness and loss of hearing capacity followed further by skin and ear infections. This is not something which can't be minimised reducing the talking time to a level the body system accepts. Business talks are a different matter but unfettered gossips can very well be restricted to reasonable limit to avoid various health hazards.

EVENING IS NO END OF THE DAY !

When the day calls it a day, when a dusky evening enters the night -deep and dark, it opens up the gates for dawn to draw. The birds that retire to their nests when the dusk draws it is to start another day singing and chirping. This cycle of time is unending. Some thing that looks like an end is infact the beginning. Some thing that begins ends too, some thing that ends begins too. Perennially, perpetually and then eternally, the sequence lives, lives on, lives on for ever. A most powerful factor in itself as it is, this self generating sequence is the Immanent Will never knowing an end to its operations. Like this only are all the human beings, nay all beings in the world, who are born because they are to die, they die because they have to relive.

IF SHE IS ON THE TOP!

On the top in the race for most covetous a post of America's President, Hillary Clinton is presently a most popular candidate if the consesus on that count collected by the media in different places is taken as factual. One designer passed a remark that to get accepted by the electorate in general she may have to 'drop her pants' switching over to the one popularly accepted by people in America particularly ladies. Hillary is otherwise a sober person competent enough to interact with the masses coupled with the factor that she has enough of experience with White House both from global significance angle and matters connected with household involvements in the President's house. Undoubtedly there can be hardly any difference of opinion that she is potentially a most strong candidate to make an ideal President more so as the first lady incumbent for the post.
