Music magician Zubin Mehta to perform in Srinagar:

It’s a thrilling news that that the living legend of the stature of Zubin Mehta, a music wizard of Indian origin now aged 77 years currently based in USA, is scheduled to perform in Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) some times in September this year tentatively in the Moghal Gardens there. He is likely to be accompanied by hundreds of the other musicians belonging to his team reaching India two days before the spectacular event. Finalisation of the arrangements in an elegant manner are in the offing at the top priority level in the State. The entire programme is to be telecast to about 100 countries of the world to the benefit and interest of the music lovers. The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, is personally taking keen interest to see that the programme gets necessary priority at the top level. He is likely to address a press conference in the matter at New Delhi shortly. This shall certainly be a proud occasion for the country for the reason that Zubin Mehta is not only a great music wizard, he originally belongs to India the citizenship of which he still retains.

Dress code–Sonia Gandhi style:

While addressing the convocation of National Institute of Fashion Technology at Rae Bareli (India) the other day, Sonia Gandhi laid emphasis on simple dress as against  overdone and over-embellished ones. Her tune and tenor was that of matching with Indian culture. One should look clean and elegant, but there should be no overdoing on that count to the extent that the people, particularly women, hardly wear any thing to fully cover their bodies. Sonia Gandhi, just like Indira Gandhi, always is neatly dressed herself, and the message so given by her is that of a modest and graceful an order. In fact the dress choice in currency these days is that of too meagre a coverage to the whole figure of a woman or girl, which at times borders a ridiculous look and that hardly fits into the traditional culture of the country. Alright that one should be neatly dressed looking elegant, but this is not supposed to suppress the very grace part of it. Efficiency orientation in offices

Running an office in a neatly furnished office with office equipments placed orderly is a matter much different to running it in a casual style. If efficiency counts, and it does count I believe, a good office is the basic need for it as important things just can't be attended to in a loosely shabby atmosphere. Placed in a healthy work atmosphere with a live environment of ease and facilitation, one undoubtedly feels like working with more centralised an attention apply the required focus to the job he does. In one of my newly started offices, I had ordered a neat furnishing of it with an elegant furniture to suit both the staff and the visitors. A complaint was lodged with the administration who were prompt enough to institute an enquiry, an act they are quick to resort to to trace the avenues for money by way of illegal gratifications, which was conducted with a speed. Investigators team arrived, interrogated office functionaries and they had an appointment with me too. I affirmatively confessed the irregularities pointing them out that all is done at my instance. They looked apologetic but maintained their posture of negation on the point that it was too much of money wasted on office maintenance. Look, I am not running an aashram or a dharmshalla, I am running an office which has to be business friendly, was  my reaction to them adding that I was not for making any amends to what was done. Dismayed, they went back murmuring that better it was if there was some economy applied on furnishings. The complaint ofcourse was later closed for want of any substantial proof of any misuse.
