How relevant it is to adopt a village?

Development is there, there is more of it and yet there it is with a special focus. Obviously a place so adopted for the purpose falls in the category of development with a special focus. Varanasi being the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi there are showers of gifts to it on a bumper scale, the latest being adoption of a village there by him. There is a big list of proposals for the purpose but the guess is that choice may finally fall on the villages like Rohania or Sewapuri or may be the Prime Minister Modi comes out with a last minute surprise by putting his stamp on some other village. By virtue of himself being the Prime Minister of India, in fact the whole country stands adopted by him and any amount of extra favours extended to a particular place may amount to pick and choose, hence not relevant.

Why so much of a hurry?

Hurry for every thing, none has time ‘to stay and stare’, all are in a race competing with one another wearing uneasiness on their face and none is found ever at ease. What a changed world is this? Peace is lacking on all fronts –be it a matter of domestic precincts or an atmosphere in some office or the other. Developments are a boon to the social fabric of the system but as every thing has its side effects in an adverse order, developments too have it in plenty. You switch on your TV to glance over important news but the hyper speed with which they are telecast makes it too cumbersome a process as before you catch a headline it disappears replaced by another in a sequence which too passes on before you are able to make some head or tail about it. Where are gone the days when people used to see a news channel at ease with comfiture grasping the contents wholesome. Developing economy has the characteristic of providing ultra modern facilities but at a cost, the peace of mind.

Call it luck, role of stars or the outcome of his indefatigable work style round the clock, whichever field Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, enters is an instant success. The latest being his talks with students on the Teachers Day the 5th of September’ 2014 which proved to be a tremendous success when a great  message on hard work was heralded by him. The event was preceded by his another hit –his most successful a visit to Japan. His success stories are forming a great history in Indian subcontinent eliciting laurels from different quarters globally adding much bigger a pride to all Indians. One can well imagine the hard home work he does to secure success on all counts –be it a matter of developmental activities or any message to the Nation on the ethics of hard work meticulously put in. There are many who tried to put hurdles on his address to the children/ students, some like Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee even released an appeal to boycott such a schedule of his. Such an action on her part was obviously branded by the people as childish and envious. The Indians in fact owe the Prime Minister Narendra Modi their gratitude the way he has harnessed himself to the cause of upliftment of the country on all counts.

Economy growth in India on a 2 year record high:

It certainly makes a heartening news if Indian economy registers some considerable growth at a point and this has happened in the case of April-June quarter this year, a question of rarity normally. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi for a laudable outcome. This growth by 5.7% for the quarter is significant and is likely to boost up developmental activities further. This is mainly attributed by manufacturing and mining sectors in the country. Viewed from consumers point, the reduction in petrol rates by another Rs.1.82 a litre in series in a way coupled with announcements on the front of various projects by the government further boosts up the morale of the people in general. Share market has shown an increasing trend in its index though in a meagre measure with stagnancy and volatility during the last week but capable of setting a tendency towards the market rising upward in days to come to the benefit of the traders in different disciplines. All taken together, the scenario looks like adding tangibility to the much talked of the slogan of “Achhey din aaney waley hain” which may give a chance to the public in general to owe necessary gratitude to the government in power.

Hike in rail fare:

There are country wide protests against proposed increase in passenger fare by the Indian Railways. Some relaxation granted, though quite meagre, by the authorities failed to satisfy the protesters. Soaring prices which the government is unable to control are already a great menace to the economy and obviously the increase in railway fare is a major factor to contribute to it adversely in a gigantic order. Possibly the present government is as helpless on this front as their predecessor, the UPA. True, no developing economy can afford a check on soaring prices or  cease enhancing railway fare but why the hell those running the government now were boasting so much on a drum beat before elections to control them. People of the country can well be supposed to bear an additional burden taxing their means of income for the sake of developmental programmes but such a capacity of theirs has a limit beyond which they can’t afford to go. In the circumstances the current incumbency in the government led by BJP may essentially have to think twice before embarking on imposing one tax after the other falling heavy on the means of the common people of the country.

Modi, thy name is revolution:

Modi, thy name is revolution, thy name is development. You are a great boon incarnate for the country. A great star on the firmament of Indian politics, you are the one who should have been there on the national scene at least a decade back. Unlimited timings of work with no weekly offs for your ministerial team and other functional agencies in the harness to ensure quick delivery of goods is an initiative healthy enough to leave a message for the people of the country that they are to be fully cared and looked after in the matters of their welfare and security. Planning rocket trains besides bullet trains to connect bigger centres of the country with one another is some thing that never struck the mind of your predecessors as they never took it as their direct concern like you are doing. They remained highly self centred hardly looking beyond their nose with people’s interest in mind. You have hoisted the flag of an all round development for the country as a whole without even an iota of discrimination or prejudice visible any where. Your indefatigable efforts aimed at building up the nation throwing a challenge to many of the countries globally are capable enough to create an unprecedented record in political history of India. The people of the country in turn are supposed to feel concerned with the security and health of yours and also your team. As an humble submission through this blog, let us earnestly suggest at least some break between different work schedules as against your pursuit for 24 hours work a day as some relaxation too is the part of work only because it is a factor that in fact boosts up the working efficiency further. Let us wish you to acquire laurels after laurels as from the people of India for the mission of service to the nation so undertaken by you.

An apology of developments

A talk or a stunt, development is something that is a reference every where in India. Be it a general market or market dealing in stocks, no subject ends without talking on developmental activities in our country. What these activities really are? Are they visible or are they physically appearing at any place. Answer appears to be 'no' only if viewed in real physical terms on the surface. Soaring prices? Government's reply is it is because of development. Why law and order situation is out of control? The administration says they are busy in adhering to developmental process. Why police refuses to even record a FIR (First information Repot)? When questioned as such the oft repeated answer of the police is that they have instructions not to record them, obviously for the reason that administration has to keep their statistics on crimes at the lowest possible level. An eminent economist as the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself is, he never gets tired fo telling that rate of inflation is within control. It is a different matter that the figures available for the purpose speak just otherwise. Why there are no roads or why the roads wherever they are are not maintained to a proper usable level? The reply from the state governments every where is that there are no funds. It is a different matter that every now and then they are for adding a bogey of ministers to their cabinet involving enomously a huge expenditure. If honestly there any measure taken on developments with a physical manifestation, public of the country has no reason to be any defaulter on that count. Any non implementable assurance is nothing but meaningless. Barren talks on development only amount to an apology of it.
