Prime Minister Modi only imitating Congress?

Whatever Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims boastfully as his achievements are only the offshoots of the earlier government of UPA, says Sonia Gandhi, the Congress high command. Looks like a joke when people draw a comparison between what was done by the UPA and what is being done by NDA. You ask a common man and he spontaneously talks about fuel prices that as against every now and then increase in fuel prices in the name of oil crisis earlier, now they are successively reduced for the first time in India after Modi became the Prime Minister of the country. She also ruthlessly blames Modi for creating a havoc for the people of the country saying:

• “What he (Modi) gained in the US is not yet known. But the poor people of India are paying a heavy price as he has granted a huge price hike for essential drugs to directly benefit the US drug manufacturers”.

In fact what Sonia Gandhi says is not comprehensible to Indian consumer, he rather has seen and experienced only reduction in drug prices twice in the recent past as declared by the present government. What is actually most ridiculous is that politics in India is more practiced in a free styled manner than in a manner that is logic and reasoning based. Let there be a debate with reasons and the overall scenario would emerge to surface with a clear picture of pluses after Modi joined the power and the minuses that obtained during the time of the earlier government. It would been actually a major crisis for the country if there was really any imitation of what used to be done by the earlier government.

How relevant it is to adopt a village?

Development is there, there is more of it and yet there it is with a special focus. Obviously a place so adopted for the purpose falls in the category of development with a special focus. Varanasi being the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi there are showers of gifts to it on a bumper scale, the latest being adoption of a village there by him. There is a big list of proposals for the purpose but the guess is that choice may finally fall on the villages like Rohania or Sewapuri or may be the Prime Minister Modi comes out with a last minute surprise by putting his stamp on some other village. By virtue of himself being the Prime Minister of India, in fact the whole country stands adopted by him and any amount of extra favours extended to a particular place may amount to pick and choose, hence not relevant.

Economic ties between America and India have all along been a crucial affair and continue to remain so even after the deal between Obama and Modi is duly stamped as the things have to be watched in the context of its physical implementation in tangible terms. Indian Prime Minister Modi is hailed for garnering an investment as from America to India to the tune of $41 billion in next three years. There is a point when the opposition criticises the deal saying that it is sans procurements on other crucially important points and that the  deal of $41 billion actually works out only to 20% of it but they are ignoring the factor that issues between the two countries can’t be supposed to be sorted out merely as a matter of one time deal and the whole process is required to perpetuate. Modi does deserve accolades for setting the ball rolling securing what was best possible in one go.

Summons to Modi on 2002 Gujarat riots:

Summons are issued against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he is on his otherwise a stormy visit to America by the US Federal Court for the Southern District of New York on a civil law suit filed by the New York based American Justice Centre (AJC), a non profit human rights organisation along with two survivors of the post Godhra violence. Narendra Modi is required to respond to the summon within 21 days after it is served on him, as the Court said. This is how the news is released by the PTI. Like a bee in the meals the news spoils the taste the Indian populace is enjoying on a tremendously successful visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America currently. Courts any where in the world have their own way of working boastfully unmindful of the reaction of the people in general. The news read in the context of Indian Court having already disposed of the case much earlier exonerating Modi of the charges so levelled, the instant one practically stands no where.

All’s well that ends well:

Disputes on poll alliance between BJP and Shivsena in relation to assembly elections in Maharashtra stand halted now with a consensus emerging between the two on seats sharing. BJP was hell bent on getting nothing less than 130 seats and Shivsena finally relented to it. If the dispute was not sorted out amicably there was every possibility that it could have left a serious impact adversely affecting both the parties, mainly BJP which has continuously been gaining grounds after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India. After this consensus Shivsena may have to cut seat allocations in respect of other smaller groups in local alliance but they have their own way of tackling such issues and they are quite expected to sort it out too. It is after all a new sign of an added harmony between the both the big parties. All is well that ends well.

Indian Prime Minister to address United Nations in Hindi:

On his visit to USA in the last week of this month Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the general assembly of United Nations, the significant feature being that this address shall be in Hindi. In fact he shall be the third dignitary from India to do so –the first being the then Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpai followed by Rajnath Singh the then a cabinet rank  minister in the Indian Council of Ministers. Actually like every thing language too is a politics both at the level of the individual country and also globally. In India several of political leaders, many of them claiming to be academically well qualified, speak in their regional language because they are not fully conversant in English and there are many who do so as an honour to the national language Hindi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too doesn’t command necessary fluency at speaking in English but this by itself is no reason for him to opt for speaking in Hindi at United Nations. His selection of language is fully based on a nationalistic approach holding Hindi banner high wherever he visits as was the approach of Atal Bihari Vajpai, the then Prime Minister. His decision as such is not to undermine English, most powerful and globally recognised a language, but just to go for a bigger boost up to the national language in true spirit of patriotism. This is quite in tune with the pride of India.

Floods in Kashmir -mercenaries on a rampage and vandalism:

Kashmir is crying in pain as a result of havoc caused by monstrous floods with hundreds of people dying followed by enormous devastations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an appeal for donations to facilitate further rescue operations and rehabilitations which every one owes a moral responsibility to respond sumptuously. The announcement is to be hailed in the sense that merit should never be a factor to be compromised either as a matter of pick and choose or even reservation in jobs. Merit is the crux point when there is a nation building in the process coupled with developmental activities all around and if the tools like pick and choose and quota reservation are allowed to get manipulated it enormously hampers the progress of any country –be it India or some other country elsewhere in the world. P.M.’s Teachers Day speech–action against defaulters:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on the last Teachers Day was a great hit but several of the schools in the country defaulted in its proper implementation –some on the ground that they had no necessary paraphernalia available with them for the purpose and some wilfully including those for political prejudices. Certain political parties openly opposed the programme. The government has now come out with a threat of action against those schools who defaulted. Since it was an official programme where Prime Minister was involved, there should normally be no pertinent an excuse to play any defiance on the part of any body whether individual schools or the political parties but the question is whether any action taken in the matter can be a justifiable one, more so in the case of different political parties who feel that they themselves are all powerful to go the way they want and none is supposed to go against them. It has yet to be seen what a turn it finally takes.

There are many who tried to put hurdles on his address to the children/ students, some like Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee even released an appeal to boycott such a schedule of his. Such an action on her part was obviously branded by the people as childish and envious. The Indians in fact owe the Prime Minister Narendra Modi their gratitude the way he has harnessed himself to the cause of upliftment of the country on all counts.

Economy growth in India on a 2 year record high:

It certainly makes a heartening news if Indian economy registers some considerable growth at a point and this has happened in the case of April-June quarter this year, a question of rarity normally. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi for a laudable outcome. This growth by 5.7% for the quarter is significant and is likely to boost up developmental activities further. This is mainly attributed by manufacturing and mining sectors in the country. Viewed from consumers point, the reduction in petrol rates by another Rs.1.82 a litre in series in a way coupled with announcements on the front of various projects by the government further boosts up the morale of the people in general. Share market has shown an increasing trend in its index though in a meagre measure with stagnancy and volatility during the last week but capable of setting a tendency towards the market rising upward in days to come to the benefit of the traders in different disciplines. All taken together, the scenario looks like adding tangibility to the much talked of the slogan of “Achhey din aaney waley hain” which may give a chance to the public in general to owe necessary gratitude to the government in power.
