Saif Ali Khan on girlfriends:

People are free to form their views and so is Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to express himself on a topic like relations with girl friends in general or on a particular case. He was candid enough with a particular reference in his mind while expressing like this:
  • “Let us say like, virat Kohli, if his girl friend is with him, I don’t know –I would like to think it’s not a distraction. A person involved with someone is going to think about them anyway”
There is in fact no point in taking exception of girl friend(s) along which has become most common a factor particularly with reference to Cricket these days when even cheer girls are free to storm from pavilion to the play ground like honey bees. Indian culture has a past when activities like this were never thought of but the time wave has changed its direction tremendously  adopting a neo culture that permits every damn thing on earth. No exceptions need be taken of the affairs like this and the people should better reconcile to the social changes which are taking place in a bumper measure –be it a matter of girl friends or cheer girls or even things beyond all that.

Mujhe lechalo jee (take me too along):

There was a nautanki show with the name mujhe lechalo jee (take me too along with you) where the actors portrayed the role of evil spirits and how they haunted the men and women in the locality. Haunted by an evil spirit a man named Billu suddenly disappeared from the village. Village Panchayat deputed another man called Jhillu to find out what went wrong with Billu. Deep into a forest he found that there was a crowd of people all haunted by evil spirits crying in a chorus ‘mujhe lechalo jee’ and to his surprise Billu was one of them. On reaching the spot he too had the spell of the evil spirit and before he could ask any thing to Billu he himself started repeating ‘mujhe lechalo ji’. Village Panchayat continued sending men to the forest one after the other but all had the same fate. Lastly the Panchayat Chief himself ventured to go and find out what was the mystery but as soon as he reached the spot he himself started repeating the utterance mujhe lechalo jee. Finally what happened was that all who were  condemning the evil spirits were themselves in their dragnet.

Our country is like that. Leaders from outside the government join full throated slogans condemning it right and left but when they themselves have the chance to rule the country they go worse. This is what is exactly manifest on the surface after the new government has taken over. Soaring prices including latest rise in cost of petrol, diesel and rail fare, security, economy and law and order are all in a terribly bad shape. All Billus and Jhillus occupying their coveted positions in the new government look only hypnotised by the power to rule they have now and the common man is as helpless as he used to be during the earlier government then in the saddle.

They are much more than entertainers

Small stage shows, road site performance and also Nautanki were the routine source of entertainment in olden days and the performers were not the star status people. They were taken so lightly and the society denied them any status worth any recognition. It improved. Silent cinema followed. And then there was voice too. Persons from status families started joining films. The primary requirement for the actors and the actresses was that besides playing their role they should also be singers themselves. This again was followed by play back singing. Now that the total scenario as undergone a sea change. The element of an inbuilt disdain obtaining earlier against the entertainers is left far away behind and they are now respected people, they are the great personalities and many of them the renowned celebrities. Number of them are highly qualified academically as against earlier days when such a feature was something so rare. Dilip Kumar as a graduate and Kamini Kaushal as B.A. (Hons) were considered as a phenomenon of exception. As a group or say as a class they are practically the ones who are acting as friends, philosophers and guides for the society as a whole through their most skilled and powerfull roles covering the multifarious interests of the people. They are a respected lot now deserving all possible recognition.

If Aishwarya Rai was an ordinary woman ?

Technorati Tags: ,

She has been Miss Universe, she is a beauty and a heart throb of  millions of people the world over, she is the leading lady occupying the top rung of the film industry and what not could it be that she has not been able to enjoy in life. She virtuallly reigns with her looks that cause the waves whichever side she directs her gaze. Her love biggies being a large number acting as rivals with one another in several instances are a story in themselves. Suppose for a moment that she was not what she is and was just an ordinary woman in some locality in which case the assessment on many counts could have been just different. The laws of the society could have prevailed to cast disdainful looks on her for having free styled love affairs and may be she was discarded by the puritans dictating terms in the social arena of things. Religious mythologies are full of such stories where women used to have physical relations with several males at a time like Kunti in Mahabharat or Draupadi of Pandawas. There are stories where women with one husband for life were adored and worshipped. There are yet stories where women didn't go for the ritual of marriage but had a full fledged physical alliance with men switching over to one after the other. Applying an analytical appraisal of the total scenario, what is evident on the surface is the phenomenon that the social rules were drastically applied on the females who otherwise were not strong enough to take cudgels against the rule makers in the society but those who had a capacity and status to assert were not touched. Amrapalli in Budha era was bold enough to declare, ofcourse presse by circumstances, that she was for opting prostitution as her career which announcement was sumptuously hailed by those very men who were known for making laws against free love. Ours is a society where strength counts as against role of a simpleton meekly succumbing to irrelevant social rules.

Who deserves more of a recognitiion -an actor or an astronaut?

Text Link Ads
Human society on earth is big enough to accommodate all shades of people -the people who work, the people who entertain, the people who produce cereals to form food for all beings. Importance wise all carry some weight or the other. Then there are people who create history, there are people who invent things of an enormous magnitude research wise. Way back long in the past, navigators used to move from place to place to find out which could be the other locations where people lived or which could be the countries other than those to which they belonged. Space age came and the astronauts took over to trace life on other planets. After Kalpana Chawala, Sunit Williams along with her other companions created history for remaining in space astoundingly for a longest ever time. When she returned, people all over the world had to hold their breath watching suspenseful moments minutes before she was to enter the earth zone -a space zone where temperature is thousands of time more than what melts the steal. Curiousity and anxiety throughout the world on the part of the people knew no limit. One can well imagine how suspenseful and tortuously anxiety laden were those moments for the members of her family. She alongwith all the members of the crew could cross that sort of hot zone and landed safely. History may have to record the event as the happiest one and unique as it set the ball rolling for humans to some day go far in space for their pleasure trips.
I as one saw the entire event in a different perspective. How come the level of receptivity and the amount of festivity on Sunit's arrival on earth failed to match the one that is extended to actors, the entertainers. Media guys run after tracing the pastures of money and whereever they find it in abundance they land and gain the harvest. Take for instance Aishwarya's marriage with Abhishek Bachhan when no activity was visible on TV, newspapers and other media modes other than this marriage. There is talk of Rani Mukherji getting married now and media again wastes maximum possible time on it.Shilpa Shetty was kissed, embraced and what not by Richard Gere on the pretext that it was an anti AIDS campaign -most obscene a show in full public view. Both didn't feel the least ashamed, they instead enjoyed it on two counts -one that they could satisfy their lusty ways promiscuously embracing each other and the other, for which the movie stars always hanker, that they could get enomous publicity.Again take Salman Kahan who is likely to get married to Katherina and the people, more so the media, are receiving the news with so sumptuous a gaeity as if the two partners are obliging the country for tying a nuptial knot together. The wave of the peoples choice and fancy has the tendency of going a slopy way but those who claim to be intellectuals or the media fellows who claim to be the tongue of the society should pay their pointed concentration on the entertainers as against the ones struggling in space for the good of the mankind is not only a matter of surprise but of a great dismay.
